WELCOME!
The Montgomery County Beekeepers Association of Maryland has over 150 members, some of whom are Master Beekeepers. The Association has one purpose: promote better beekeeping. We welcome new members, and have classes in beekeeping for beginners every spring. Our Master Beekeepers are there to help you with your beekeeping problems, or even to simply give moral support when needed. The Association publishes a monthly newsletter called The Honey Pot.
Beekeeping is loads of fun! Come join us!
There are two ways to join the Association: take the Beekeeping Class in the spring, or sign up through this website.
The Mongtomery County Beekeepers Association teaches a yearly beekeeping class which usually starts in late February and consists of 6 - 7 weekly lectures. The course finishes with a couple of hands-on sessions in the apiary, where students are able to experience the excitement of working a hive. If you complete the Class, you automatically become a member of the Association , and the first year's membership is free!
Sign up or contact us if you have any questions.
Join anytime
The best way to understand who we are and what we do is to attend one of our monthly meetings. You will meet other local beekeepers who will be more than happy to answer any questions you might have. At the meeting, anyone from the Association's leadership will be able to help you join. If you can't make it to the next meeting, or if you can't wait, you can join here. Just make sure you register with the website first, if you have not already done so.
